When I wake up at 3:00 in the morning for no reason and can’t go back to sleep, I do three things:

I wonder, what does God have to say to me, then I wait.
I journal my thoughts after I read some scripture, blogs and devotionals.
I pray for those who are on my mind.
Then I usually go back to sleep.
But there are times, when I’ve spent time with God and I’m so energized that I will not sleep until the sun has traveled across the sky. At other times I just pray and go back to dreaming.
It’s been a while since I’ve heard from God. Maybe, it’s because I haven’t stayed awake. I wonder what will be this time at 3:30 a.m.
Heavenly Father, do you have something I need to hear from you at this time? If so, will you allow your Holy Spirit to speak to me the message you want me to hear. Will you lead me to a verse that may go with what you want me to understand? Thank you. I’m listening.
The wind is strong outside, I can hear it move the giant evergreen branches outside the bathroom window. It looks cold with the blanket of stormy clouds outside. Yet, something tells me it’s not cold at all. I shouldn’t allow how things look to deceive me. I should experience it for myself.
Just like the wind outside, it is also true about God. One should listen and observe what others teach about God, but it is of most important for one’s soul if they experience God themselves. I must step outside to find out how cold it really is or I may be deceived. You too, my friend, step outside of your knowing and experience God for what He really is.
I can tell you of his amazing love and abundant help, plus his stern correction for those he cares about. But, if you don’t step out and experience His Wind, you will not have a full understanding of His love for you. It will be like the wind that makes noises and you may see some sort of effect, but to know to really know, it has to be a personal decision to not only hear God’s Spirit but to sense Him with your spirit. It is then when you are fully alive.
God speaks like the wind. Can you hear Him? Can you feel His presence? Can you experience His Holy Spirit? If so, do you understand His word? If yes, ask Him to travel along with you, but never ever leave Him behind.
“Your life is a journey you must travel with a deep consciousness of God. It cost God plenty to get you out of that dead-end, empty-headed life you grew up in. He paid with Christ’s sacred blood, you know. He died like an unblemished, sacrificial lamb. And this was no afterthought. Even though it has only lately—at the end of the ages—become public knowledge, God always knew he was going to do this for you. It’s because of this sacrificed Messiah, whom God then raised from the dead and glorified, that you trust God, that you know you have a future in God.” 1 Peter 1:18-19 MSG
What will happen if you do leave him behind and out of your life?
You may build for yourself greatness. You could become something beyond what others have become, reaching heights no one else has reached, making yourself famous. The reasoning will sound good. Good enough for man, yet you will not know the purpose of those who built with you or even your own heart. For, it has taken you far away from what is good for you and the relationship with God.
“God Turned Their Language into ‘Babble’ Genesis 11:1-9 MSG
1 1-2 At one time, the whole Earth spoke the same language. It so happened that as they moved out of the east, they came upon a plain in the land of Shinar and settled down.
3 They said to one another, “Come, let’s make bricks and fire them well.” They used brick for stone and tar for mortar.
4 Then they said, “Come, let’s build ourselves a city and a tower that reaches Heaven. Let’s make ourselves famous so we won’t be scattered here and there across the Earth.”
5 God came down to look over the city and the tower those people had built.
6-9 God took one look and said, “One people, one language; why, this is only a first step. No telling what they’ll come up with next—they’ll stop at nothing! Come, we’ll go down and garble their speech so they won’t understand each other.” Then God scattered them from there all over the world. And they had to quit building the city. That’s how it came to be called Babel, because there God turned their language into “babble.” From there God scattered them all over the world.”
Go search the scripture, no where you will find recorded that God said, this scattering of his people and the multi languages were good, like He did in the beginning of time.
What we build is not necessarily bad, The purpose of why we build is the root or the foundation of good or bad of our creation. If the purpose isn’t God centered, instead its self-centered, then God can’t give it His blessing.
Confusion and detachment will occur from those who we love and care about and from the things which matter in our lives.
Let’s pay attention to which wind, we are listening to and get blown by.
All this to say, when the wind blows and the tree limbs dance vigorously, take time to quiet your soul, go and talk to God and listen to the Holy Spirit guidance. He will teach you how to live and have an abundant life on earth as it is in heaven. As long as God is with you in your journey peace will follow you.
Don’t leave Him out of your life.
Yeah, this is what usually happens, when God wakes me and I don’t go back to sleep. Well, it’s 4:30 in the morning and I can still get some shut-eye before the alarm wakes me up.
I pray these word were a reminder of God’s desire to spend time with you and a blessing. May God be with us throughout or waking time. Let’s build with Him as we go about our duties and arts. God bless you.
