Flash Fiction – My Busybody Daughter

Alice, my busybody, imaginative, six-year-old placed a metal cross, a smash Twinkie and an empty wine bottle on the counter when she arrived home.

The vague items propelled me to ask, “Where did you get these things?”

“Father Don said,Jesus can’t be found.” I looked for clues by the clubhouse and the Burger drive-thru. Where people yell, Jesus, all the time. Someone kidnapped him.” She stood a dinosaur by the cross. “I saved him from the Holy Water after my” Alice whispered, “absolution.”

“Hmm, I see.” Filled with curiosity, I asked, “Did you find who took Jesus?”

Alice squealed, “I did. A sticker on a car had, “Jesus is with me.” Here’s the tags,” she grabbed my hand. “Let’s go rescue Him. You call dad at the police station and ask for the address. I will write it down. Dad can meet us there with the swat team.”

In search of prompts to exercise my brain, I found a challenge to use the ten bolded words in a flash fiction of 150 words or less. Then before I could pinged it, I shut the sight. Then, I can’t find the blog.

Woke-Up With A Song

“God is my strength, God is my song, and, yes! God is my salvation.”

Exodus 15: 1-8

“Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to God, giving voice together,

I’m singing my heart out to God—what a victory!
He pitched horse and rider into the sea.
God is my strength, God is my song,
and, yes! God is my salvation.
This is the kind of God I have
    and I’m telling the world!
This is the God of my father—
I’m spreading the news far and wide!
God is a fighter,
    pure God, through and through.
Pharaoh’s chariots and army
    he dumped in the sea,
The elite of his officers
he drowned in the Red Sea.
Wild ocean waters poured over them;
they sank like a rock in the deep blue sea.
Your strong right hand, God, shimmers with power;
your strong right hand shatters the enemy.
In your mighty majesty
    you smash your upstart enemies,
You let loose your hot anger
and burn them to a crisp.
At a blast from your nostrils
    the waters piled up;
Tumbling streams dammed up,
wild oceans curdled into a swamp.” msg

*****

Often when I wake, I wake with a song.

I rise and sing to my God who gives me strength.

He is my song in spite how my days may start.

Fret Appeared As A Flick

Philippians 3:13-14 “I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.” MSG

I received a phone call saying that one of my son’s is not doing well and is thinking of quitting his job for a lesser one.

Let me back up four months past.

My oldest son was involved in an automobile accident. He was rear ended by a van going at 60 mph totaling his car. He, his wife and two young son were in the car at the time. Thankfully, no one else was hurt, only him. After three months of recovery, he returned to work, but he’s not the same.

The neck injury is effecting one of his hand. He’s unable to hold on to things. As his mother, my heart broke again as I heard the news. This son has faced one challenge after another without much of a break. Some of those are of his own doing, but others came as magnets not releasing him until the lasting damages had taken its course, much like this one.

When I’m riding on God’s Eagles, His promises, like the verse in Philippians and receive heart tugging news of one of my children struggling, I want to land the eagle and ask my child to climb aboard.

But, I can’t.

I can only call and point to the Lord’s almighty eagle for them to climb on.

Before fret ignited full-blown worry in my soul, I pointed my son where the Holy Spirit led me. I couldn’t believe my eyes as read, Isaiah 4: 10.

“. . . I’ve picked you. I haven’t dropped you.’
Don’t panic. I’m with you.
There’s no need to fear for I’m your God.
I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you.
I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you.” msg

My hope is that my son climbed aboard.

Trusting my God gave no room for the flame of worry to crash me to the ground of uncertainty and disbelief. I continued to soar on my eagle. For, I must press on to the goal God has before me.

Without a doubt, I knew the Lord reached down to my son. All my son needed to do was to take His Lord’s hand and climb on His promise.

Holly Spirit minister to my son’s spirit as you have minister to mine. Help him to hear what God wants him to know. Direct his path along the side his Savior. Lord, strengthen his faith and belief in You.

God, please give my husband and I wisdom on how to advice our son, or not to speak, plus being the godly parents he needs at this time. Thank you, for all you are doing and will do for my son and his beautiful family.

May you find encouragement in God’s word and my story.

Smallness Baffles Unbelief

Sometimes, I just have to get on my knees to see miracles.

The Dangers of holding Yourself Back

Stifling Dreams Create Nightmares

20180120_153624.jpgWhat talent am I suffocating, because of what if it takes off?

What ability am I quenching, because of what others may think of me?

What inspiration am I killing, because of what if it succeed?

Stifling our creativity harms not only ourselves, but those whom would have benefited from our work.

In a sense, we are not only killing our growth by withholding inspiration from the world around us, but we are keeping ourselves in the darkness of hopelessness.

Breakthroughs from stifle thinking, not only brings dreams alive, but give light for many other souls to hope again through our gifts, talents and works.

Be creative, spread insight, possibilities and imagination.

Allow your dream to take flight.

Alaska ~ Like A Dream on Moose Pass

IMG_20180126_074429_958.jpgDriving south on highway-1 from Anchorage, the view is beyond capturing, but I still try.
20180125_120645.jpg
It changes in minutes, just beyond the cluster of trees, over the bridge, after the next set of mountains, practically on every curve of the road.
20180126_082950.jpgBecause there isn’t always a place to pull over to the side of the road, I have to photograph from a moving car.
20180120_161537.jpgOne must be watchful and careful on this highway, it is dangerous, not only because of animals, but people and the weather.
20180125_120831.jpgWhen I see a grand scene, I photograph the view from a moving car as quickly as I can. Many times what I see before me, the camera can’t capture well.
20180126_084225.jpgOne, the grand view changes too fast.
20180125_115349.jpgTwo, light is difficult to photograph period.
20180125_120439.jpgThree, a moving vehicles with a snowy, dirty windshield causes fuzzy photos.
20180125_120212.jpgBut, I kept trying. I had to show you what I saw, because it expanded my chest wider, pulled my shoulders back, released my concerns and helped me breath deeper again.
20180125_115811.jpgOnce, I can stop. I do and then the scene swallows me whole. Nature does it every time, it reminded me of Who is actually in control and it’s not me.20180125_115637.jpg

A Photo a Week Challenge: Crowd

HEY!!! WATCH OUT WHERE YOU’RE STEPPING!

20160724_045350.jpg

One never knows what worlds exist if one doesn’t take time to stop and take a look.

20160723_192518.jpg

Below my feet.

As hard as I tried to not step on the smallness of the crowed shells, crunching sounds still came from below my foot.

I came to a halt, as if I heard, “Hey, watch where you’re stepping,” and bent over.

For a moment, I saw myself like Godzilla passing through Tokyo.

When I zoomed in on my phone camera, left me in total wonder.

The scene sucked me away from my world, shrink me to a tiny size and I entered a place I’ve never seen before.

Intricate details, distinguishing colors and uniquely shaped homes revealed a beautiful world, which I was about to collapsed and destroy in one step.

Just like my steps, I must be careful with my words, written or said. Once the action of my printed words or spoken have occurred, they land in people’s minds and hearts. My words will either destroy a world or help rebuilt one.

My hope is for my words to bring healing and possibly repair a destructed life.

Let’s be careful were we trot, not only with our feet, but with our words.

Nature helped Silence My Worried Heart

Trails of any kind beacon me to follow  their path. On this day, a partial unseen trail dared me to come. I accepted the challenge knowing I would have to be agile to get to the waterfalls. It was a time in my life that I needed nature to help me breath.

Un prepared for the terrain, my daughter and I carefully  began our decent in our sandals. We slid, jumped from boulders and walked on uneven rocky grown, until we arrive where my daughter stood.

This piece of paradise is called, “Boiling Pots of Wailuku” in Hilo, Hawaii. The beauty and magic of this place hushed away the worried voices which wouldn’t leave me be.

Peace found me, calmed my mind and heart. I sat beside my girl, worried free. God reminded me that He is not only watching over us, but also taking care of our needs. Having the load taken from me, was well worth the difficult path back up.

Paths of Self Discovery

20180101_123558.jpg20180101_123511.jpg

Along the path you will discover that you too can flee away from danger. Listen and be aware.

IMG_20180115_215509_475.jpg20180101_123857.jpg

When one must turn back along the path take time to reflect. Keep the good and leave the bad.

Choices exist of where to walk on any path. Either choice brought you from and took you to the same place, the uniqueness of who you are.

Where Are You?

Sometimes is not about what is near or far

Or the sky or the ground below

But, about where you are

Funneling yourself to

IMG_20180106_015816_201.jpg

Look around

Not with your eyes

But with your heart.

What do you see?

Can you paint it?

Draw it?

Sing a song about it?

Maybe write a poem

or a short insert of realism

20171227_160606.jpg

Now that you’ve seen with your heart

Touch it with your soul

What colors will you paint with?

What grays will make the lines and curves?

What melody will rise and fall?

What mood will the words create?

What truth will you be able to say?

20171227_214805.jpg

Remember, it’s not always about what

Is near or far, above or below

But where you are presently living

Or have you run and hide

To not be hurt or heard

PLEASE! Return

20171230_151627.jpg

Come and create

Then, I can

See you,

Hear you

Feel you

While I take

time to be

With you
